About Helen

Helen Howie specialises in energy therapies, particularly

Reiki and Kinesiology. She offers holistic training workshops

in Reiki and other aspects of personal growth and

provides individual consultations.

In addition to her training in energy-based therapies, also including EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), Helen draws on her experience and skills in a range of areas such as stress management and adult learning. She has undertaken numerous courses and workshop experiences and views her ongoing personal and professional development as central to her integrity as a practitioner.

Helen has been involved with holistic therapies since the late 1990s, working in the voluntary and learning sectors, as well as private practice. She has also been a therapist with a community stress centre since 2005. Before her involvement in holistic therapies, Helen worked professionally in the fields of learning and personal development for a number of years, across diverse environments and she holds postgraduate qualifications in Adult & Continuing Education. Helen therefore has many years experience in supporting learning and development in a diverse range of settings. She is passionate about supporting each of us as individuals in achieving our goals, whatever they may be.

Helen's interest in a more holistic approach to health and development emerged following a period where she was very ill for a number of years with M.E. (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome). She initially consulted a kinesiologist and ultimately, with the support of a range of holisitc approaches, made a complete recovery from illness. She then went on to work increasingly with holistic therapies and develop her interest in personal growth and development. As a mother of five, Helen also loves to use her tools to work with children and babies.

Helen began training in kinesiology early in 1999 with Claire Tomlins, a leading exponent of "Three in One" kinesiology and Principal of Harmony Kinesiology College. She became fully qualified as a professional kinesiologist in 2001.

Helen began her Reiki learning in 1999, taking Reiki 1 and 2, and worked with this therapy for a number of years before qualifying as a Reiki Master Teacher in 2006 with Reiki Master Lorna Maclean and Karuna Master Teacher in 2007 with Reiki Master Elizabeth Harley. She has been running successful Reiki workshops since 2006, integrating her passions for Reiki, energy work and learning.

The practice operates in the Lanarkshire area, which is easily accessible from the Central belt of Scotland.
